The hotel has a strong environmental policy using a biomass boiler, creating carbon neutral energy, the electricity is supplied by and large from renewable sources, the construction has been improved to provide high insulation valves by having cavity insulation, double glazing, extra insulation to the roof and under the floor, low energy light bulbs and low energy appliances.

Recycling has more than halved the rubbish removed from sight, a worm factory provides organic compost and fertilizer, a recycled green is planned and a water harvesting system is currently being installed.

It is policy to become completely carbon neutral and support local environment projects in addition to growing own organic vegetables and herbs.
